Temporary Closure of our Waiting Lists

Dominic Simpson

With effect from 2nd March 2023, Jigsaw Occupational Therapy will be temporarily closing our waiting lists for assessment and therapy services to new enquiries. All those currently holding a place on our waiting lists will maintain their places.

We have taken this decision with a heavy heart and after much deliberation internally. Over the past few years we have seen demand for our services increase dramatically and despite our best efforts to maximise our service delivery, our waiting times have steadily increased. It has always been our goal to provide much needed support in a timely manner but we are acutely aware of the extended wait time our clients are currently experiencing. Understanding that many families have already experienced lengthy waits through public services, we feel we cannot add to this experience with our waiting times being greater than 12 months.

Therefore, with immediate effect we will temporarily close the waiting lists with a view to re-opening the lists at a future date. We will use this time to review procedures internally in an attempt to increase capacity and also work our way through the lists to ensure that all those maintaining a place on the list are still actively seeking support.

We very much appreciate that the closure of our waiting lists will leave many families with one less place to turn for help and we'd encourage families to research suitable OT's in their local area via the Royal College of Occupational Therapist's directory which you can access via the link below. Please do ensure that any professionals considered have the appropriate qualifications and experience to support you and your child/young person.

We will provide an update on when we are in a position to re-open our lists again in the near future and we thank you for your understanding on this matter.
