Vicky RuffleDirector and Occupational Therapist

Vicky Ruffle

Director and Occupational Therapist

 

Director and practising Occupational Therapist, Vicky Ruffle graduated from the University of Southampton in 2002 with a BSc Hons in Occupational Therapy. Since 2003, she has been providing specialised assessment and therapy in the area of paediatrics and is an Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner and is Bobath trained. 

Vicky has worked at Chailey Heritage Clinical Services – providing assessment and therapy for children and young people who have profound and multiple disabilities, Child Development Centre in Brighton and Hove, The Children's Trust at Tadworth - specialising in acquired brain injuries, East Sussex Education Authority – Setting up a service and facilitating children to access their education either in mainstream and special needs schools.


Naomi TrowbridgeOccupational Therapist

Naomi Trowbridge

Occupational Therapist

 

Occupational Therapist, Naomi Trowbridge, has a post-graduate qualification from the University of Brighton and is also currently studying towards a Masters qualification. Additionally, Naomi is trained in Sensory Integration and Sensory Attachment Intervention.

Naomi has gained experience working with children and young people at an independent special needs school and also has worked in social services, orthopaedics, intermediate care and mental health departments. 


Louise Church

Occupational Therapist

 

Louise has over 18 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in Paediatrics, working with children of all ages, with a wide variety of individual and complex needs, within health, education and social services. Louise has managed complex clinical work with children and young people in both mainstream and specialist schools.

Louise is passionate about advocating for children’s needs and targeting provision that will enable improvement of functional skills alongside empowering children, parents, carers to better understand their child’s needs and improve relationships and life experiences as a result. 


Katy KitsonOccupational Therapist

Katy Kitson

Occupational Therapist

 

Katy Kitson qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1999 with a post graduate diploma from the University of Brighton and has completed her post graduate advanced training in Sensory Integration.

Katy has experience of working with children and young adults with a diagnosis of autism, coordination disorders and sensory processing difficulties in a variety of settings in the NHS, community and in special needs schools.


Jenni Chouchelamane

Jenni Chouchelamane, has over 18 years of experience in Occupational Therapy in a variety of fields.

Jenni is experienced working in Sensory Integration within mainstream and specialist school, in addition to a clinical setting.


Jo Pennell

Occupational Therapist

 

Jo has a strong commitment to promoting the role of occupational therapy in order to ensure a responsive and effective service for all clients. Jo is accustomed to and enjoy working collaboratively across professional and geographical boundaries. Jo is a strong advocate for stakeholder involvement at every level of service review and development and has been proactive in working with service users to develop a range of forums that enable clients of all abilities, experiences and cultures to play a full part.

Since qualifying in 1993, the majority of Jo’s posts have been in mental health services. Jo has also worked in neurology and young peoples’ services (physical and psychological); this experience has provided Jo with a broader understanding of both the role of Occupational Therapists and also the need for fully integrated services.

Jo prides herself on delivering innovative service development and also for fostering and developing the skills of staff from student training throughout their career pathway.


Charlene Cruickshank

Occupational Therapist

 

Friendly, dedicated and pragmatic, Charlie is a practitioner with over 10 years of experience as an occupational therapist working with busy clinics, schools and home education programmes. Patient and empathetic professional that is passionate about working closely with families and children of all ages, providing holistic 24-hour therapy plans that are both functional and practical. Friendly but efficient, with a proven track record of coaching many parents and support staff, providing them with the understanding to undertake therapy programmes and benefit from this vast skillset in therapeutic practice.

Charlie is a fully trained Sensory Integration Practitioner who obtained her Occupational Therapy degree from Oxford Brookes University.


Becci AbellOccupational Therapist

Occupational Therapist Becci has experience working with children aged 0-16 with a range of presentations including neurological conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, developmental delay, children with developmental coordination difficulties, autism and has experience running multi disciplinary clinics and groups for preschool aged and school aged children. 

She has experience working in both the NHS and private paediatric services including specialist schools and has experience working alongside a psychotherapist within a residential children's home.  She also works as an Occupational Therapist in neuro-rehabilitation and works with adults following complex brain injuries which requires skills in upper limb rehabilitation and cognitive assessment and rehabilitation.   She is certified in Ayres Sensory Integration and has an interest in nutrition.

Becky is an experienced lead practitioner trained in Sensory Integration Therapy and Sensory Attachment Intervention. Becky is passionate about working with children, young people and families and has gained experience across a range of roles within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and education for the past 15 years.

After graduating from the University of Northumbria with a BSc in Occupational Therapy, Becky has obtained extensive experience in working with children and young people with a range of mental health needs, developmental trauma and neurodiversity.


Lauren Downes

Occupational Therapist

 

Lauren is an adaptable and motivated Paediatric Occupational Therapist who specialises in Sensory Integration. Graduating from Brighton University with a BSc Hons in Occupational Therapy, Lauren is devoted to delivering high quality interventions to improve the lives of children with multiple needs.

Lauren has a wealth of experience working within the social care sector with children and young people with complex need to promote independence and function, whilst improving quality of life.


Marie Spence

Occupational Therapist

 

Marie graduated from the University of Brighton with a BSc Hons in Occupational Therapy and has since then had several years experience in supporting children, with a wide range of complex needs, and their families as a community Occupational Therapist in the social care sector.

Marie has extensive experience working at a residential independent special needs school for young people with Autism Spectrum conditions, promoting independence with life skills, supporting sensory needs and enabling access to the local community. This experience sparked her love and interest in Sensory Integration, which she is now specialising in.


Lucy Tait

Occupational Therapist

 

Lucy completed her BSc Occupational Therapy degree at the University of Brighton. Lucy is experienced at working with children and young people, utilising her friendly and easy-going personality, to build trust. Lucy is motivated by the potential of Occupational Therapy to focus on the promotion of health and wellbeing.

Lucy is fully trained in Sensory Integration.


Keli Jones

Occupational Therapist

 

Keli holds an MSc in Health Through Occupation and a Postgraduate diploma in Occupational Therapy. Keli is trained in Sensory Integration and Sensory Attachment Intervention and has over 15 years experience in health and education across both the NHS and private sector. In addition, Keli has extensive experience working with a range of neurodevelopment presentations and/or mental health problems, and specialises in working with children and young people with complex needs.

Keli is passionate about working with children and young people and improving the outcomes of those she helps.


Racheal Waddoups

Occupational Therapist

 

Racheal is a practising Specialist Paediatric trauma and attachment informed Occupational Therapist with training and interest in Neurodiversity, sensory processing, attachment, and trauma. Racheal graduated from the University of Cumbria, Lancashire in 2015. Since then, she has worked in CAMHS Tier 3,4 and PICU; older adults enhanced assessment; and the later part of her career in a private paediatric service working in both special education and mainstream schools, family homes and the community.   

Since Racheal was young, she always knew she wanted to be a therapist, however the type of therapy she provides has developed over the years to ensure the best fit for all in her care. Racheal herself has sensory difficulties; this helps her empathise with the those she works alongside. Racheal’s role will include completing assessments at Jigsaw; looking at providing support around sensory and functional challenges and emotional regulation.  

Outside of work Racheal enjoys walking, yoga and fitness – all that being said she enjoys nothing more than sitting on the sofa wrapped in a blanket with a cup of tea and biscuits. She like music, singing, dancing, photography, being with my friends and family and learning new things.
