What does Jigsaw Occupational Therapy do?
Jigsaw Occupational Therapy Limited is a specialist provider for children and young people living in the South East of England. Our dedicated assessment and Sensory Integration therapy centre is the first and only one of it’s kind in Sussex.
Jigsaw Occupational Therapy was founded in order to offer more effective and personalised assessment and therapy specifically designed around each individual child and young person’s needs.
We work with children and young people experiencing a wide array of profound and multiple disabilities. Some of these conditions include; cerebral palsy, autism and Asperger’s syndrome, sensory processing disorders, acquired brain injuries, motor coordination difficulties and learning disabilities.
All our Occupational Therapists are trained sensory integration practitioners to an Advances Sensory Integration therapy level or up to level 3. Each therapist has a wealth of experience working with children and young people with a diverse range of disabilities and challenges.
Jigsaw Occupational Therapy’s dedicated centre is equipped to provide a high level of assessment and therapy, with our Sensory Integration suite being the only one in Sussex adhering to the fidelity measure guidelines.
Our enthusiastic and motivated team bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge to impart families and schools. We are experienced at delivering training for schools, parents and professionals. All our staff are DBS checked, fully insured and HCPC registered. We maintain membership with the College of Occupational Therapists and the Sensory Integration Network UK.
Where is Jigsaw Occupational Therapy located and what areas do we cover?
Jigsaw Occupational Therapy is located between Ansty and Burgess Hill on the B2036 Cuckfield Road, easily accessible from the A272 and A23 Brighton to London road links. The town centre of Burgess Hill is just under a mile away and Haywards Heath approximately 1.5 miles away both benefiting from a mainline railway station to Brighton, London and Gatwick.
In addition to utilising our therapy centre, we are able to conduct both home and school visits if preferable, throughout the South-East of England region. In relation to our training capabilities, we are able to create specific training days for schools, colleges, departments and education authorities, providing practical group training sessions or seminar style training days.
Who does Jigsaw Occupational Therapy provide for?
We work with children and young people experiencing a wide array of profound and multiple disabilities. Some of these conditions include; cerebral palsy, autism and Asperger’s syndrome, sensory processing disorders, acquired brain injuries, motor coordination difficulties and learning disabilities.
We are able to assess and provide treatment for children as young as 1 year, up to young people of 19 years old.
How can I start using Jigsaw Occupational Therapy’s services?
Anyone can access our services directly without the need for referrals. Our fees are dependent upon the service required and can be requested on a individual basis. As a private service we typically have good availability for all of our services.
How are decisions made about who can use Jigsaw Occupational Therapy’s services?
Jigsaw Occupational Therapy provide assessments and therapy for children and young people aged between 1 and 19. Students that use our services have a range of conditions including:
- Acquired brain injuries

- Cerebral palsy

- Motor coordination difficulties
- Sensory processing disorders
How does Jigsaw Occupational Therapy communicate with service users and how they are involved in decision making/planning?
The progress of all children and young people is monitored closely and an open dialogue is maintained with the parents/carers of the child or young person. Our Occupational Therapists will provide regular updates on how the young person is progressing and developing in line with the goals originally set out at the start of any extended block of therapy sessions. We would always immediately revise the plan if the child or young person’s needs change. Our flexible approach to implementing our services means they will continue to develop throughout the agreed block of therapy sessions.
Parents/carers are always consulted and made aware of how they can help their child. Our Sensory Integration therapy doesn't stop at the end of each session and so we welcome engagement, input and support from parents/carers.
Is Jigsaw Occupational Therapy’s service fully accessible?
Jigsaw Occupational Therapy offers it services to individuals with a variety of complex needs and disabilities, wheelchair ramps are available to access to the therapy centre. Visitors also have access to a wide range of specialist equipment included in the sensory integration room such as, vestibular swings, weighted blankets and vests, tactile kits, gross and fine motor equipment, therapy balls and developmental items.
What training do the Occupational Therapists supporting children and young people at Jigsaw Occupational Therapy have?
All of our Occupational Therapists are trained sensory integration practitioners to an Advanced Sensory Integration therapy level or up to Level 3. Each of our Occupational Therapists specialises in paediatrics, have extensive experience working with with children and young people.
All our staff are DBS checked, fully insured and HCPC 6jregistered. We maintain membership with the College of Occupational Therapy and the Sensory Integration Network UK.
